butter. Add sugar and work together until creamy. Sift cornstarch

This
is a family favorite recipe, updated with lavender buds - it is
truly magnificent! Our grandmother spent her early years growing
up on the Whitworth Ranch in the Skagit Valley near Hope, B.C. right
on the Canada/U.S. border. Today the ranch is a provincial park
and one of the mountains is named Whitworth Peak after her father,
Henry Whitworth. Mary moved to Kelowna when she was 17 and soon
married Richard Stewart of Stewart Brother's Nursery. Our farm was originally purchased to be used as nursery land in the 1950's. Eventually it was planted with red and golden delicious apples. |
