Let us entice your palette with a wonderful introduction to cooking, preserving and experimenting with fresh herbs.
Imagine strolling through the gardens, collecting fresh lemon balm, lemon verbena, rose petals and lavender and making a delicious herbal tea with them moments afterwards! Or gathering fresh sorrel, arugula, radicchio, basil and nasturtiums for an herbal salad enjoyed right at the farm.
We'll introduce you to preserving your fresh herbs with vinegars and using them throughout the winter months to season your culinary creations. We'll also teach you how to collect and bind herbs for traditional French 'bouquet garni', then dry them for use throughout the long winter.
Learn the art of following the seasons in your kitchen and selecting fresh herbs at their peak to provide lasting enjoyment in your kitchen.
This programme involves a 2-21/2 hour time commitment; this allows for visiting, reviewing and collecting the herbs in our gardens. Demonstration of how to create a seasonal dish using herbs collected and instructions on how to preserve and use herbs collected during the farm visit. |
