Lavender Hot Chocolate

Winter is such a cozy time of year, with the falling of swollen snowflakes and early evenings inviting us to curl up in fuzzy socks, chunky sweaters and sip on a hot drink. Our favourite? Lavender hot chocolate!

Deliciously rich and delicately floral, lavender hot chocolate is easy to make and delightful to enjoy, especially when topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 1 tbsp dried lavender buds
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2-3 tbsp hot chocolate mix

This is as simple as it gets, friends: in a small pot on the stove, add the dried lavender buds to the milk, gently bring to a boil, turn off the heat (but leave on the element) and let steep for 5-8 minutes. Then strain out the lavender, mix in the chocolate and - voila!

Don't forget to swirl on whipped cream sprinkled with lavender buds for a final (and delicious) topping!

Looking for a little more to enjoy? Our delicate lavender shortbread is a longtime family and customer favourite, and pairs perfectly with a mug of hot chocolate by the fire!
